Steve Vosti Honored with Chancellor’s Award for International Engagement

For the third year, UC Davis honored those on campus advancing the research, teaching, and service mission of UC Davis through their international engagement with Chancellor’s Awards for International Engagement. This year’s faculty and staff awardees—who span agricultural and resource economics, emergency medicine, history, and human resources—were recognized by Chancellor Gary S. May for their outstanding international engagement at the International Connections Reception hosted by Global Affairs on March 7.

Kenneth Brown receives Robert Suskind and Leslie Lewinter-Suskind Pediatric Nutrition Lifetime Achievement Award

Distinguished Professor Emeritus Kenneth Brown received the “Robert Suskind and Leslie Lewinter-Suskind Pediatric Nutrition Lifetime Achievement Award” from the American Society for Nutrition at Experimental Biology 2017 in Chicago. The award recognizes a researcher whose lifetime body of work includes meaningful contributions towards childhood nutrition in health and disease globally.

Hanqi Luo wins best poster in the IC-FOODS conference

Hanqi Luo, UC Davis PhD Candidate of PICN and Epidemiology, won the best poster and $500 in the IC-FOODS conference Data/Information/ Visualization at IC-Foods new International Conference + Consortium + Center for Food Ontology, Operability, Data and Semantics held Nov 7-9th, 2016 at UC Davis. Hanqi’s poster was titled “The Development of a Dietary Model to Predict the Effect of Micronutrient Interventions in Cameroon.”

Muzi Na wins 1st place in Elevator Pitch Contest

Muzi Na, a postdoctoral scholar at the PICN, won 1st place in the Elevator Pitch Contest on Micronutrient Innovation and Entrepreneurship, October 24, 2016. The Contest was held in Cancun, Mexico as part of the annual International Micronutrient Forum.

Dr. Md Iqbal Hossain awarded the International Healthcare Award

Dr. Md Iqbal Hossain, an alumni of the Graduate Group in Nutritional Biology and the Program in International and Community Nutrition at UC Davis, has been awarded the International Healthcare Award. The award was presented in a recently held International Conference on Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatobiliary Transplant and Nutrition, February 11-14, 2016 in Jaipur, India.
