UCD medical students research birth prevalence of defects following fortification of wheat at Cameroon
Brenda Wu and Arram Noshirvan, medical students with the UC Davis School of Medicine, received Medical Student Research Fellowships to travel to Cameroon to work on a research study which aims to assess the change in birth prevalence of neural tube defects following fortification of wheat flour with folic acid. The project is a collaboration between the Program in International and Community Nutrition, the UC Davis School of Medicine, and Helen Keller International and other partners in Cameroon.
