At UCD’s Institute of Global Nutrition, I had the opportunity to learn from leading experts in global nutrition while conducting high-impact research. What makes the environment unique is the combination of rigorous research training and an exceptionally supportive community of faculty, staff, and peers.
Describe your focus area in the field of Global Nutrition or Global Health
My work has primarily focused on maternal and child public health nutrition, and in the areas of nutritional epidemiology and population health modeling.
How did you get to your position?
In each of my positions after leaving UCD, there is a connection back to UCD – either colleagues or supervisors are themselves alumni of UCD or have worked closely with colleagues at UCD.
What do you like most about your current career position?
I enjoy solving complex problems and knowing that my work makes a difference. While gaps remain in global nutrition data, I am motivated by the ability to leverage the data we do have to produce results that can be used to support policymakers and researchers in tracking trends, inform decisions, and guide future research.
