Bio

Charles has been the Statistician at the Institute for Global Nutrition since 2015 where he leads statistical design and analysis for complex human research studies. His expertise include randomized controlled trials, longitudinal cohort studies, national surveys, and individual participant meta-analyses, with a focus on maternal and child nutrition and health in low- and middle-income countries. 

Charles holds a MS in Statistics from UC Davis, and a BS in Statistics and Molecular & Cellular Biology from UC Berkeley. In addition to statistical consulting, a core part of his role is mentoring students and early-career researchers, supporting them in developing strong analytical skills and confidence in applied statistics. He enjoys working with collaborators across diverse global settings with a focus on strengthening local analytical skills, spreading awareness of best practice research methods, and promoting sustainable research.
