Bio

Marisa Tsai, PhD, MPH is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Institute for Global Nutrition, where she will study the effects of Medicaid expansion on children's diet and health in Dr. Au’s lab. She completed her doctorate in Epidemiology at the University of California, Berkeley, where her research focused on nutritional and social determinants of health across the life course, with an emphasis on food insecurity, child and adolescent nutrition, and the social safety net. Her work uses longitudinal, econometric, and mixed methods to evaluate program effectiveness and implementation, with the goal of informing programs to better meet the needs of vulnerable populations.
