Event Date
Zulfiqar Bhutta, MD
Co-Director, Sickkids Centre for Global Child Health, Toronto, Canada and Founding Director, Institute for Global Health & Development, Aga Khan University, South-Central Asia, East Africa & United Kingdom
Dr. Bhutta will discuss the current context of challenges faced by many countries globally, often multiple and overlapping crises of climate change, conflict, migration and economic hardship. The relative burden of mortality and undernutrition in these contexts is much greater than previously recognized, and evidence-informed interventions are often not integrated within humanitarian response strategies. Dr. Bhutta will also present ongoing work addressing some of these challenges with a focus on adaptation, resilience and packages of care.
