Our research in lactation and breastfeeding practices examines the composition of human milk and the biological, social, and environmental factors that influence breastfeeding practices and outcomes for mothers and infants. It highlights the role of human milk in supporting infant nutrition, and healthy growth and development, while also considering maternal health benefits. Our findings from breastfeeding research help inform healthcare guidance, public health programs, and policies that promote and protect breastfeeding for improved maternal and child health.
